Collage: Double multiple

I use collage incorporated into a painting. Rather than direct application of paint onto the panel, I use collage as a second medium because it is more of act of “making” which motivates to labor and creates a sense of elementary.

Collage is a re/thinking process, transitional, unbound, challenging the perception, suggest different perspective, collectivity of dismantle, and a full of playful possibilities.

A shifting/perception, neighbors, equal existence of group and individual, invitation to details, effect/affection, and subtle variations of lines, colors, textures, and layers of mediums are main core of my artwork.

In this show, I examine small and multiple grids linearly arranged to see influence on the neighboring colors, lines, and shapes.

Just being next to each grid, they connect, influence, and sometimes subvert. This process of collage creates whole different dynamics depart from the original singular element.
